My favorite appetizer of the moment is whipped feta with hot honey. This creamy vegetarian dip is very easy to make at home. The hot honey on top finishes it off.

Whipped feta, a delicious delicacy that has been gaining popularity recently, has its origins in Mediterranean cuisine. Originally from Greece, feta is a traditional cheese made from sheep's or goat's milk or sometimes a mixture of both.
The process of "whipping" feta is really nothing less than mixing or mashing the cheese, taking it to a whole new level. Mixing the feta with olive oil, herbs and sometimes garlic creates a silky, creamy texture that is perfect for dipping, spreading on toast or using as a topping for salads and pastas. After this, you will truly never want to do anything else, trust me!
The popularity of whipped feta is due to its versatility and delicious taste. It adds a rich, salty flavor to dishes and can be adapted to different taste preferences by adding herbs such as basil, oregano or thyme. Or as in this dish: with hot honey. That way you have salt, sweet and spicy all in one.
This whipped feta with hot honey is so delicious because it combines sweet, salty and spicy. You can dip it in deliciously with a baguette or toast and it also looks great when arranged on a plate. And the best part? It's on the table in no time. So you don't have to make much effort to impress your guests!
Earlier I made this whipped feta with roasted tomatoes. That one is also fantastically delicious and slightly less spicy. And speaking of cheese: this camembert from the oven wouldn't look out of place on your drinks board this week either. Whichever one you choose, you're sure to enjoy it.
Place the feta along with the crème fraîche, garlic powder and a pinch of salt and pepper in a food processor and blend until you have a creamy whipped feta. You can also use a hand blender or blender.
Heat a frying pan (without butter or oil) and roast the pine nuts in it for one minute until golden brown.
Finely chop the basil and mix the honey with the crispy chili oil to make hot honey.
Spread the whipped feta over a plate and garnish with the pine nuts, basil, hot honey, the chili powder and some salt and pepper. Top with a drizzle of olive oil.
