People are looking for creative ways to enrich their Christmas menu with something surprising, without falling straight into classic dishes like turkey or stews. The savory Christmas wreath fits perfectly into this trend because it looks festive as well as being versatile.

On social media and food blogs, this wreath is wildly popular. From puff pastry wreaths filled with savory treats to elegant wreaths with cheese, meats or vegetables - the possibilities are endless. The round shape makes it extra cozy and ideal for sharing together.

What you need:

6 slices of puff pastry
3 tbsp jam of your choice
strawberry, apricot etc.
100 gr brie
few sprigs of rosemary
1 egg for spreading
sesame seeds
handful of dried apricots
salt and pepper
1 wreath

What to do:

1

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a baking sheet with baking paper.

2

Thaw the slices of puff pastry and cut out triangles where the long side is 5 cm long. Place all these triangles in a circle with the point inward (see photo 1). From the remaining puff pastry you can make little stars with a cookie cutter.

3

Spread the puff pastry all around with the jam and top with slices of brie (see photo 2). Top with a pinch of salt and pepper.

4

Fold the edge of the wreath closed (see photo 3) and then fold the points inward (see photo 4). Top with the stars of puff pastry. Beat the egg and brush the wreath with it. Spread the sesame seeds on top and slide into the oven for 15 minutes until the wreath turns golden brown.

5

Garnish the wreath with the sprigs of rosemary and, if desired, the chopped dried apricots.
