Loaded hummus with mango

Loaded hummus with mango: the name always says it this hummus is loaded with a lot of goodies. I really enjoy making dips and spreads to go with drinks. This is not only super tasty, but also easy and quick. Before we get started, let's dive into the loaded trend. Because where does it come from?

What is loaded hummus?

The term "loaded" in the context of dips and spreads has its origins in American culinary culture, which often focuses on lavish portions and flavorful dishes. The word "loaded" has long been used to indicate that something is rich in ingredients or toppings. Think of loaded nachos or loaded fries, for example.

American food culture is known for its love of generous portions and combining different flavors and textures. This has led to the development of dips and spreads that contain not only the basic components, but also a plethora of additional ingredients such as cheese, bacon, jalapeños, and other flavorings.

The popularity of "loaded" dips and spreads has spread through social media and videos on sites such as TikTok. The term was then adopted by the food industry and is now often used in commercial descriptions as well. You can't avoid it anymore!

Loaded hummus with mango

This loaded hummus with mango, among other things, is not your average loaded hummus, as I have in this recipe made earlier. There the emphasis was really on the Middle Eastern with a Greek touch. Hummus, olives and feta cheese is a combination you see regularly. With this tip, I wanted to go off the beaten track and create something really different. I used hummus with a spicy mango flavor and added extra mango, fried corn, pine nuts, crispy chili oil, honey and fresh herbs. The nice thing about this recipe is that you can add or omit things yourself. Make the loaded hummus exactly the way you like it. The most important thing is that it keeps a good crunch and bite, otherwise you are completely free. Enjoy!

What you need:

4 pitas
200 gr hummus
mango-flavored
100 gr fresh mango
100 gr corn
2 tbsp pine nuts
1 tbsp crispy chili oil
1 tbsp. honey
fresh chives to taste
fresh cilantro to taste
salt and pepper
olive oil
1 plate

What to do:

1

Heat the pitas according to package directions, then cut into triangles.

2

Cut the mango into small cubes and chop the cilantro coarsely and the chives finely.

3

Heat some olive oil in a frying pan and fry the corn in it with some salt and pepper until golden brown.

4

Spread the hummus on a plate and top with the mango, corn, pine nuts, crispy chili oil, honey, chives, cilantro and some salt and pepper. Serve with the pitas.
