The rise of meat substitutes

The rise of meat substitutes began in recent decades due to a combination of environmental awareness, animal welfare and health reasons. The meat industry contributes significantly to deforestation, water consumption and carbon emissions, prompting many people to look for more sustainable alternatives. In addition, awareness of animal suffering in the bio-industry is growing, motivating many to eat less or no meat. Health also plays a role, as too much red and processed meat has been linked to heart disease and cancer.

A veggie chicken burger is an excellent alternative because it mimics the taste and texture of chicken without the disadvantages of animal meat. Plant-based ingredients such as soy, wheat protein or pea protein provide a high protein content, while often containing less saturated fat than real chicken. In addition, producing a vega chicken burger is more environmentally friendly, saving water and farmland. Thanks to advances in food technology, meat substitutes today are almost indistinguishable from real meat, making them an attractive choice for vegetarians and flexitarians alike. A vega chicken burger thus offers the taste and nutritional value of chicken, without the negative impact on the environment and animal welfare.
