Pasta with green asparagus and prosciutto

15 minutes

This sunny weather calls for spring recipes: this pasta with green asparagus and prosciutto is the perfect spring dish. The secret is in adding a little wine to the sauce. But why is cooking with wine so delicious?

Why cook with wine?

Cooking with wine adds a depth of flavor to dishes that is difficult to match with other ingredients. The flavors and aromas of the wine partially evaporate during the cooking process, creating a complex and sophisticated flavor that enriches dishes.

Wine contains natural acids and sugars that help tenderize meats, enhance sauces and balance flavors. The choice of wine can vary depending on the dish, with red wine often used for stews and rich sauces, while white wine is used to refine fish dishes and light sauces, as with this pasta so. Moreover, wine adds a subtle fruitiness and complexity to dishes that create a deeper flavor dimension.

Using wine in the kitchen is not only culinary beneficial, but it also adds to the conviviality and social aspects of cooking and dining. The aroma of wine that spreads while cooking often awakens warm memories and can evoke a sense of comfort and enjoyment. And fair is fair: a glass of wine while cooking and/or with dinner is just really nice.

All in all, cooking with wine not only adds delicious flavor to dishes, but also enhances the culinary experience by adding complexity, balance and depth to various dishes. You should give it a try!
